Just wanted to pick peoples brains about getting a nice audio setup going on in my E30. Just a few simple questions really.......

What size are the standard front speakers

What size are the standard rear speakers

Do E30’s rattle like crazy with a subwoofer in the boot

Are E30 alternators up to the job of a large audio system and if not are they any replacements I could use from another car

Also back when I had my E36 coupe I found that the car was built so well the subwoofers struggled to move sound/air around the car and made it sound a bit shite, I’m guessing I wont have the same problem with an E30 as its a much older car.

Front and rear speakers are 5.25"

Depends on how powerful the subwoofer is, if you want loud bass then it will but using Dynamatt will help to reduce this

How large are you talking?

Try and utilise the 'ski-hatch' if you have one, will help to move air around

Dont want massive subs as my boy racer days are behind me but something like a nice single alpine 12 inch or possibly even a row of several 10 inch subs

I dont play my music at silly volume these days but a quality sub woofer makes for a well rounded quality system

I've just spent £500 on a new sound system and it sounds awesome :)

A nice 12" sub along with a correctly powered amp, a decent set of components (Vibe) and a good headunit should be perfect 8)
