hi
I am looking to re-do my touring interior in a couple of weeks so may as well sort everything while it's in bits.
I want a good little set up for the front only with a colour match on the headunit to the orange lights - nothing garish.
Budget around £300 for headunit and speakers and must fit in the OE style behind front kickplates.
Trawling through posts it seems there is a good value set of Infinity speakers with cross over for tweeters to be mounted in mirror plates. The ebay links were dead though - anyone able to help?
Recommendations and advice much appreciated
cheers, simon
Front ICE advice please - headunit + speakers

They are good but personally i would go with Vibe
. I've got Vibe component's fitted in my cab and they are very good.

I would go with Focal polyglass as I have heard good reviews of them in France ( and it is French
).
I know for sure that the polyglass slims fit in the original positions as well as the tweeters in the original tweeter pods.
for the head unit i would go for Alpine as they are very well rated. Be aware though that some model don't illuminate amber. Some are amber though and look to be a good match. You can find the one with the proper illumination on the Alpine website.
Cheers / pierre

take a look at alpine spr-13s mate, 300w and should fit straight in, amp them up and you'l have great sound, hit the bay and with the chnge you'll get a decent alpine head unit plus the orange lights will match up

so these component type set ups - are they meant to be run with a sub bass in the back? looking at the alpine spec they don't go below 70hz, which is where your bass freqs live as I recall.chisel wrote:take a look at alpine spr-13s mate, 300w and should fit straight in, amp them up and you'l have great sound, hit the bay and with the chnge you'll get a decent alpine head unit plus the orange lights will match up
should know all this having a music studio and everything but i never did pay attention
so far this would appear a decent bog standard cheapo option that would be under budget :
Can direct the tweeters on these up from the kickplate:

And this basic Alpine headunit has amber illumination:

comments welcome, cheers for the help
