sealed...

bandpasses are good but quite limited in what ranges can produce well and hard to get right.

ported will sound a bit looser

sealed unless you know what your doing and indeed what your after

lots of kids use ported boxes without understanding the concept behind them.

all ported boxes are tuned to a frequency mate if the sub is not set up to work with that port it will sound gash and it will "chuff" sealed is easiest to work with.

if in doubt check the manual with the sub for the manufacturer recommendations or browse www.talkaudio.com for more info

a sealed box will go loud with punchy bass, but it will become annoying after a while IMO, theres too many variables, i prefer a really smooth sound!

You need to match your amp to your sub and then your sub to your box,
don't buy ready made packages from the car audio shops, better to get the specs from the sub manufacturers about box parameters, you must get the air volume right or even the best sub will sound crap.

Porting is not just a hole in a box, port diameter and length are very important and will tune a box to a frequency!

Get an amp with a adjustable low pass very essential, plus adds flexbility to your system should you change subs.
