CD Changer

Hello i was wondering how does a cd changer get its power?
From the head unit or its own power lead?
Its kenwood btw
Does anyone know where i can get a kenwood cd changer quite cheap?

My jvc one had just one thick lead from the back of the head unit!

From the head unit. They're all cheap - barely anyone uses changers anymore! I've 3 or 4 spare somewhere.

I have a kenwood mask cassete whiich i love but i want cd too so cd changer is ideal.
Ziggy any of them changers kenwood?

Yep. I'll see if I can find one of them. Will probably come across a few minidisc players too :lol:

I've just put a kenwood mask CD back into my E30 (moved the becker into the E34) along with a 10CD MP3 changer - great stuff.

Minidisc... Now there was a "next big thing". Sort of like betamax-not that I an old enough to remember that!

Betamax was significantly better quality than VHS. Minidisc was just more convenient than CDs - I still used them until decent MP3 players came along though! I think I might have to find a decent MD headunit.

MD were kinda cool, they had a really nice chunky feel to them. They skipped like hell though

Memory cards are the way forward surely, no moving components in the headunit either.

If MD's skipped, you're doing something very wrong!!!! Never, ever had one skip and use thousands!!!
They are still used in some circles!!! What other cheap and easy way to make a good quality recording is there???

I have a lovely sony MD head unit - the one that lets you record too!!! Remote control and got a 10 CD changer and 6 MD changer that goes with it too!!!! Lovely set up - but not for sale!!!
