Sounds like you have bought a M Tech 1 kit :? . Pre-facelift. You got any pics?

look here,

http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... ar_bumpers

this is a tech 2 kit on a facelift cab.

H reg cabs could be the earlier type and E reg sports could be the facelift type (each reg was about the time they changed over depending on actuel registration dates) so you either have the wrong plastic valance or the earlier cab.

so if the tech 2 valance looks like the one in my wiki article then you must have the earlier cab. from the rear do your lights look like my black cab or the grey sport??

a tech 2 kit will fit on your cab, irregardless of how old it is or body shape. the main difference between pre and post face lift cars was the rear wheel arch profile, so fitting a tech 2 to a pre face lift required some modifications to the bumper length, but this is ont true of tin tops, the cabs all had the later wheel arch profile.

so you need only a later lower metal valance and some mods to the rear bumper mounts.

its all covered here but as i mentioned on a cab you do not need to do the rear bumper cutting/fillling page 3 on his article....
