ive got an old e30 blaupunkt radio and i keep thinking about buying one of these

http://caraudiovideowholesale.com/BOSS- ... LP4RMQ.htm

and wireing it up to my amp which is connected to 6.5's, front comps that are in tweeter pods, and sub (which wont be in too long)

basically i want it to look oem but be quite lively and bassy

what do you think ???? or will it sound shite

i think ive got an oem fettish i want to remove my clear indicators too

I've got a similar thing fitted in my Civic as the standard stereo has no sub outputs. Works well for me :D

I have seen this kind of setup in the past and it does not sound that good.

If the head unit you are using has good sound quality then maybe you can pull of a fair result. Otherwise avoid at all costs!

I have to disagree with that, ive got a similar setup in my current car, VDO head unit, hi/lo adaptor, 4ch amp, 6x9s, components. I must say that there is no noticeable drop in quality over my old JVC Chameleon running through phonos. I think the the issue here is the quality of the adaptor, im using an Autoleads which seems to be excellent quality, however i wouldn't be so sure of the likes of ebay etc
Wanted: Any old component speakers, complete or separate parts, let me know what you got :D

umm would be pretty cool to have a stealth sound system running out of an old bmw bavaria electronic head unit

so a decent adapter should be ok

i relise i will loose some quality over my fancy clarion

You can get good results like this, but not sure about the quality of that unit!! It's very cheap!!!

I would look for an amp that has built in high level inputs, so you don't need the adaptor - just take the speaker leads straight into the amp!!

Could always get a period aftermarked head unit??? Have a browse on ebay!!
