This is a polaroid of my track car, while it was still a rawdworthy 320i.

I don't want to change it too much externally (if you know AlpineAde's car, something along those lines) but I'm thinking about giving it purple lights. I'm also serious about getting a BBS body kit for it, but aside from that, I'm keeping it standard. Steelies FTW, SE spoiler, black door mirrors. Half-sleeper.

So, what do you think to this bizarre modification? Looks cool at 5am.

Now if my memory serves me correctly, don't you have purple hair (pictures from a car show?). I would seriously re - consider colour coding any part of your car to match your hair.

I just hate red.

It's so stark, so common. I get the impression that people who buy red cars don't give a f**k about what car they have as long as it gets them about. Red and white works, red lights on a white car. Purple is only slightly different, a bit more blue.

I'm sorry cloud but what f*ckin' drugs are you on? 10 people have told you what you probably didn't want to here and still:

If lights had always been purple, if BMW had used them as standard on the E30, and if they had always been standard on all cars always, and I suggested putting red lights on, you'd hate red, and tell me to stick with purple.

You're probably right, and if I had only ever eaten gruel I wouldn't know the difference but I'll eat proper food and join the protest against those lights. They are WRONG but I'd go with a purple traffic light :).

Cloud,

I'm all for individuality but there purple is a no no. Why not go for the smoked MHW's or pinker startec's if you don't like the red tail lights.
Save yourself the money, sh1t in a carrier bag (a safeways one at that) with a fewpin pricks in the bottom and swing it above your head for an hour in the living room. It'll have the same affect on your walls as the lights would the E30.

As for the red car comment and owners not giving a crapola...Ferrari? The most famous car manufacturer seems to have a long list of car enthusiasts buying their motors.

But at the end of the day fella it is your car and your entitled to do with it, what you wish.
If you think it's look good and you'll like it, go for it.

If you want stealth stick to standard lights, smoked lights would look ok as you have the black number plate surround,

or if you want to be different try some clear lights but have them and the number plate surround colour coded, (the paint on the lights will have to be mixed with plenty of clear coat to keep it fairy transulcent)
