I know there is probably another thread on this somewhere but I'm looking for floor mats for a 1990 318is. I have looked on ebay etc and have found some that look promising enough. For originalitys sake however I would like to buy proper BMW mats but I don't wanna pay crazy prices. I have heard that some e30's have clips to secure the mats to the ground but I can't see anything like that on mine so I dunno?
Can anyone help me?
Cheers!

dark blue mats and dark grey carpet dye
i paid a fiver for my mats on ebay

yes i know the rear is a bit patchy (ran out of spray
) its on the to do list for more spray
however, im going to either dye them fully black or put a standard one back it

Bear in mind these mats are about 20 years old which tell you how well made they are. I've heard many reports that the new E90 M3 mats lasted only a couple thousand miles before holes started appearing.

i think you basically push and turn till they make a small hole in the carpet, and when you turn they screw them selves to the carpet
if that makes sence

Yeah it makes sense, I guess it could be a trial and error situation,
but how difficult can it really be?................right?

Drill a small pilot hole into the carpet backing first. Makes it easierAlex wrote:i think you basically push and turn till they make a small hole in the carpet, and when you turn they screw them selves to the carpet

I marked the position through the holes onto he carpert and just twisted them in. My mats were from MotorMec. Nice quality mats.
