Soft Top

I need a new soft Top for my 1989 325i Cabriolet.
The price of the genuine part is too strong for me!
Can anyone recommend a good aftermarket manufacturer to supply and fit to my hood frame? The colour of my hood is black.

I would suggest ebay, or wait until the classified are back working on the zone and post a wanted ad there

There is a company on ebay that sells hoods, around £450

nothing but good things to say about these lot, my roof now been on for almost four years...its Sonneland material which is same quality as OEM.

That looks like a nice hood on you're car mrlee. Tell me, did you fit it yourself to the roof frame? Was this a difficult job? and did you need any special tooling?

i was tempted to fit it myself but in the end took it to a ''pro'' to do it, here is link to a thread asking the same thing..

the hood on my car is very good, but here we dont have so much rain (in fact my car has never seen the stuff!!) but wind noise is acceptable b ut again these are mainly down to the fitting and not the material.

if you try to pm Dave D he is the zone soft top expert and the one who suggested BAS International to me (but i fear he may be skiing at the moment!!

I have one of the BAS roofs and have been very impressed with it.

Having watched a replacement being fitted, I would feel comfortable in replacing one myself. It looks a fairly straightforward afffair, it's just fiddly and time consuming. However, when you can pay some a couple of hundred pounds for the grief then is it really worth it?

I would suggest getting a new front seal and seal carrier fitted at the same time as a roof skin too.
