Hello
Going back to the early 80s a head unit called a pioneer Kex-73 was at the time the nuts , now I know you can use an amp called a Gm-120 and a Gm-4 BUT does anyone know of any other compatable amps that will work.
Thanks Paul
Any old school pioneer experts left ?

Any of the gm range from that era had the din plug that connect's to your head unit.
Or you can get the din to phono adapter and use any modern amp that you want. There are also a number of amp's all different makes that accept high level input (speaker out from your head).

Cheers Fellas ,
I thought the large type 8-pin din plug on these old pioneer sets is different to all other din plugs because of it's size ?

Thanks for helping fellas but this time it seems these old units are different......or so I am told.
Apparently these early pioneer head units get ther power through the amp and not the other way round,so that makes a specific pioneer lead from that era necesary and in this case a normal din to phono wont work ?
What do you think ?
Cheers Paul

blue wire is auto antenna (remote turn on)
yellow is + 12volts consant
orange is + 12volts key live
the system is grounded via the antenna plug or better still run a wire from the body of the system to ground.
once system is running check the din plug for voltage anything around 0.2 volts DC is output. how many pins are they? 4?

You are right but all these units only work / power up once connected to the amp.
Strange but true.
Thanks anyway mate.
