my sub used to open the fuel flap on my e30, then when it rained i used to get loads of black dirt coming from the flap where the rain had washed the dirt away!

not surprised with 34" of cone area and these subs are massise in depth. done it before 18" sub in 6.4 cuft tuned to 45hz in mate bedroom running of a 2ch 500watt rms dj amp and it can move and it hits hard and low. but the best was 2 x15" jambo 500watt subs mounted in the cealing in sealed box's(boxes hidden in the loft) sounds mad as you see the amp on the desk (25watts rms) and the wall mounted twin 5" towers but then u feel the bass pushing down on up and u look up and ther's teh sub firing at you , will get a pic of this next time i go around.

man this brings back memories...i once had 4 15" subs in a small nissan sunny (pulsar shape). I broke countles parts on that car due to all the vibration! had a vid somewhere of the roof flex but can't find it! Pounded so hard it would hurt when you took a breath! Loved that system...people would pull over so i could go past as i would be skaking their car's dash with the bass...great when you need to get through traffic
All these threads are really bad, as they make me want to get back into audio again (gone into multimedia at the moment), i had wanted to do a project with 18s, but never got round to it...! If i keep the touring, then it may become a 2 seater and become home to a very tasty system i had planned

You may just get your wish Imy! I'm already getting itchy finger
How much cubic capacity do you think you can get if you remove the rear seats in a touring and use the whole car ??
4 x 18" would seriously shake the streets! Even with 4 x 15's I used to be able to shake the floor boards in all the houses on my street! My neighbours knew when i was close to home

Anyone know where i can get uprated alternators for the e30?? think i'll be needing alot of power for what i have planned!

Lets just say the sunny system will sound like headphone speakers compared to what i have planned...not sure when it'll be done though, got other things i'm saving for at the moment
and it also depends on what i decide to do with the touring! The LPG'd 4door is just awesome, but i do miss driving the touring. If things work out to plan then i'll have the 4door as my family car and the touring as my weekend fun (not that i see much of the weekends working the hours i do!) Think for now i could just whack the 4 15's back into the touring and see how they sound for now...all the foundations are already there...just never got round to doing it as it WAS my daily driver!
What those guys doing for you? Installation or box design aswell? Are they sound deadening it for you? You're going to need alot! When i first installed my 2 15's into jagga's cab it was shaking the car apart!
Oh, and the amp that you bought (if it's the one i think it is) isn't an upgrade on theVP4 it's actually a downgrade
I regret selling my VP4...that amp could take a serious pounding and still keep going.... I used to run it for hours with all 4 subs in the sunny, and it just kept pounding! Didn't even heat up much compared to some i've seen!
Not been on the zone much last few months as i've been working 70hour weeks, so bit out of touch with events on here

I wait eagerly then, no doubt it will be sounding good
They making a box for the sub, fitting all the speakers (front and rear), all the wiring as well.
I got it cheap in a deal, it'll do for now. I've been told it's not powerful enough for the sub but it will work. When i got some more money saved then i'll get a better more powerful amp.
That's some serious hours, what you doing?

i think if you go for a window lined box with no rear seat's i'd say easy 15 - 21 cuft (424-600 liters) try power master if not there are a few shops that can rewind the alt for higher output power and sum even sell custom pullys. just try to get as many 325 alts you can.
