I looking to get a set of M3 style rear lights for my H reg coupe, I’m new to the E30 scene but I believe a H reg has different rear lights to the early model E30’s and don’t want to buy the wrong lights.
Any one point me in the right direction or give me some useful information

All E30 M3s have the same rear lights as pre-facelift 'regular' E30s. They're a different size to the facelift lights, so whilst the swap's possible, it's a whole lot of work...
Or are you after E36 M3 'style' lights?

Each to their own.
Yes, your car'll need lights that are advertised as fitting 88-> cars.

You could tint the indicators red, i was going to do that but a mysterioys round hole appeared in 1 of the clusters so i bought these pre-done.

You could do the reverse lights too if you wanted, theyre not part of the MOT so it wouldnt cause any issues there, just dont go too dark on the indicators.

It is possible to tint the indicators so they appear red, but still show orange when in operation. I got mine from eko who I believe used modelling paint. A slick job that is very effective and yet still legal. Goes well with dolphin grey.

all red looks good but in Uk red indicators are illegal/MOT failure
the fabled green bulb does not work, a red lens will flash red irregardless of what colour bulb you put in there, option is to partially mask the indicator lens which should allow enough of the orange light through but still appear red from a distance of a few metres or more. look at the reverse light in an E34 or E39 to see what i mean.
or alterntively move to a country where red lights are not the police priority!!
