ok, ok, we will tell you if you TURN THE CAPS LOCK OFF!!
stay clear of K+N cone filters(use if you have a heat sheild)
i have a K+N panel filter in mine... and it does the job.

keep original airbox with a panel filter unless you are going to make sure its properly sheilded

i had a k&n cone filter on my bmw which is only a 1.8 and it made it sound better and gave better mpg and pick was a lot better. i agree a heat shiled will help , you can also get ram it kit which are fully sealed they work better on some car then others, i tryed it on a 1.6 escort and it just made a lot of noise! and alos fitted a few in a rover metros and made a big diffrence in fuel and pick up. have a look at few and read up on the spec and how it works to make sure you best bang for buck.

or if ur on a tight buget you pick up cone filters for about £10 and used k&n cones for around £20-35 on ebay , which compared to the new prices of around £60-180.
