Hi,

Need a bit of advice. I'm a newbie when it comes to ice, but I've got a Alpine X100 headunit for my E30 and have already installed some Infinity components at the front (tweeter mounted pods) and standard coaxial rear speakers. I have the power cables and connectors for my JBL amp already.

Just a few questions before I start adding the Amp and head unit :
Is the left/right channel audio cable that I want to run from the headunit to the JBL Amp special in any way ? Would shielded OFC gold plated RCA cables be okay ?
Is mounting the amp upside down under the parcel shelf okay (battery is in the boot) ?

Thanks for any help/advice in advance.

Sounds like a good setup

Ur spot on RCA cables will be fine

I would check the instruction book for the amp as most companies state mounting upside down is a no no mount it on the back of the seat

Considering Selling the Cabby, looks like its gonna go

Upside down mounting usually has some heat issues as the fins push the heat outwards only for it to rise back up onto the heatsink itself.

My old school Sony Xm2040 has been mounted upside down for a year now always running long periods has been fine though.

you could always make some sort of cooling fans for an upside down amp
