Adaptor stereo help

Taken out the original pioneer stereo from my 318i and have noticed the connection is different to the new one im putting in. Is there an adaptor i can buy that saves a novice like me from having to get someone in to change the connections, thanks inadvanced.

Gone through a few pages in this section and couldnt find a simular question that could help

You need one of these if the cars oe harness is still intact. Does the cars plug look like the picture in the link?

The connection from the car is a white pc looking thing, looks like the long bit you would plug in to the the back of a cd drive or hard drive maybe a little smaller. sorry for the bad discription.

Follow the wires back a little further, Are there crimp connections or another connector block there?

The cars in a garage a couple of miles away what ill do is take both stereos to a ice shop and see what they say. thanks for your help hopfully they will point me in the right direction.
