here's a few pics of my install. i know it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea but i does show what can be done in a tiny boot.
started off with the floor then the amp rack. im using three kenwood amps two ps401m 1200w mono's and one ps501f 1200w four channel
Image
then on to the sub enclosures. ive made part box/part mould. the fleece fabric you see is to get the shape required then soak it in fibre resin.
Image
then i made all the close off pannels
Image
ive started to trim the panels but still have much to do.
Image
i also made a panel in the consul to house my hazard/rear window heater and bass control switches and my i-touch
Image
then trimed it along with my gauge pods and head unit mould.
Image
also made some door builds and custom door cards. relocated the door release too.(i find it a right pain where its suppose to be)
Image
then trimed it up.
Image
thats it for now. ive still got loads to do including wiring it all up

whipsey- been on it for a week and half now but only in my spare time, the fabrication took about a week and the rest is trimming and running the wires through etc
sanchez- thanks for the comment

Like the boot and dash not too sure on door builds..however very good thinking with the relocation of the door release, always thought it was a bit of a pain reaching so far back and cant get used to them when my e30's not my daily driver....keep it up

just pull via the door card ledge. it shuts just the same if not easier.

I was just messin with you mate, im sat in Germany at the mo so no progress till i get back, then putting the m50 in and ive got quite a bit of work on so shouldnt take long to get everything together for my ice install in the touring, lookin at 3x10" vibe black air for the boot but not sure about which brand of components or amps yet, want to do doorbuilds in all 4 doors :D

How many amps can you run off 1 powercap and how do you work out when you need to uprate the alternator or add a gel battery mate

Some nice work there mate!!!

Seen many big debates about power caps and don't wanna start another, but, I deffo wouldn't bother with the power caps myself - far, far better just adding a second battery i reckon!!!

As for working out when you need more batteries or bigger alternator - when you get a problem!!! lol!!!!
Hook it all up and see if the alternator is keeping the battery charged with the stereo at your preferred listening levels!!
(unless of course you know you're going to be running big amps!!)

DJ_B4L...the amps are no longer avalible to so if you got one keep it. they are wicked amps and deliver alot of power.

zizzle.... the subs sound awsome considering i paid £35 off ebay and the bass comes through just fine. as for rattles, well the boot lid dances, the wiper arm jumps and the front grill sqeeks abit but please dont think its just a massive rumble of bass in the car because i hate that. its crystal clear throughout
