How difficult/expensive would it be to install rear headrests.

Also was rear headrests a possible option on a 1989 325i sport. i want to keep it original, so if they werent available then i dont want them.

They were indeed an option on your car. Not too difficult to install, the parts will probably cost you circa £30. I also need to do this to mine, but as it's a leather interior I'm abit scared to put holes through the leather, I'm worried it might split the leather (?).

Just doen this on my touring.

Check the articles section http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... adrest.htm

The part number is wrong for the white plastic washer but contact zimmberbimmer1 (Paul) and he can sort you out.

Only a few quid for the fitting kit and them a matter of sourcing some matching headrests.

Easy Peasy

For anything but a touring you'll need the RHR brackets - not expensive from BMW (£10 per side?). Tourings only need the plastic insert sleeves as fitted to all front seats as they have metal brackets / tubes in the seat frames as standard.
