Do we have any iTunes guru's amongst us?
Ive never used iTunes before and i'm struggling a bit. I'm trying to import/convert my existing music files, mostly mp3/wma, into iTunes in mp3/aac format.
The problem I'm having is that iTunes is seperating tracks from albums made up of various artists, so that the tracks appear individually as seperate albums. This I dont want, I want the albums kept as albums, i.e. complete.
Cheers, ben

Gaffa tape is like "the force" - it has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
There's nothing that shouts "Poor Workmanship" more than wrinkles in the Gaffer tap

when you import them into itunes (and they are IN the itunes library) select all the tunes from the same album by holding down the shift button as you click on them and then edit the tags so all the albums are the same title.
Word of warning if the track title isn't recognised you will not be able to download the album art for that album so search for the album on the itunes website first and copy and paste the album name that itunes use as well as artist details ect.
Within the tag editor you can also click a check box to associate ALL the songs with the same album, you are also able to change other funky options, for instance Albums which play like one continuos track (for instance dance albums where the tracks are mixed into one another) can be edited so there is no pause between track and it plays just like the CD. You can also specify songs by different artists but appear on the same album in the instance of compilation CD's.

Cheers for that mate!
Will it matter that ive stopped the process of importing the whole lot?? As in, can I start it again in the same way, import all, and it will ignore the tracks/albums its already done?

Makes no odds, you can import say half an album and then two weeks later import more tunes and associate them with the same album, its all about the album name and the check boxes.
