the paint should be finished in a day or two, then i have a few bits and bobs to sort out before i put the interior trim back in such as dead central locking
, then it will go straight for the roof fitting which i guess will take these lads a day or so, main waiting point is i have ordered a new front roof seal and it wont get here till 29/30th

with the roof.. is it new cloth only or new cloth which is already on a frame.
when you take your old roof off be careful not to drop the washers as you will need to put the correct amount of washers on each bolt. these are what make the hood sit in correct position. when i did mine i dropped them all and couldnt remember how many went where. i had to put the roof on 3 times and take it off as it wouldnt close properly. also put roof on before you put the rear door panels on as its easier to do with them off.
and give the compartment a good clean.

cheers nav, they are the same as the ones i will get
it looked like the spokes were not as long as they should be if you get my drift.
as for the roof i bought cloth only from BAS in Wales (very helpful and quality price and product) on advice from a fellow zoner (
again dave) and was toying with fitting myself but have chickened out and will get it done by a local shop (who custom make roofs for just about anything) what i will do however is take pictures as they do it and do a tech article if poss. I have spent quite a bit of time messing around that area and have noticed that the shims are critical to the alignment of the roof as i had to remove the rear window to knock a car park dent out a few months back, (window removal not such a hard job BTW), so my best tip is take loads of high quality digital pictures of anything before you touch it (wiring jobs included) so you always have a reference.
will keep you up to date.
not happy that giggs's car is the shiniwst on the zone as it was painted the day after mine

yeah i opened the box but it only came with the back part that i assumed the rivets affixed to!
even when i asked the lady at BAS she said that nothing was included! Guess you got lucky mate!!
and by the front weather seal i mean the rubber seal that goes accross the front of the frame and half way back on the doors, it does not look like it will come off the old roof without ripping. Was not silly money when i conpare to my respray, tech2 kit, bbs splitties and the new roof

oh goody oh goody oh goody!!
the tech 2 bumper is one at the back, will pick up a few fixings this morning and the front will go on, then got a few days while it has its new roof and happy days!!!

picked up the BBS splitties which were in quite a sorry state, so after about an hnour with wheel cleaner and a dremmel they came out quite good, have a look!!

I suppose the center part of the splitties is the same size as for the 15", so to make it 16" the rim was modified.. actually not my favourite x-spokes but still lookin good
P.S. You lucky - you don't have all the winter snow and salt on the roads...

got all the clips now and will put the front on tomorrow, full of flu today and couldn't be arsed to fix the car up today.
lookin sweeeeet though
does anyone know is the BBS logo on the centre caps a sticker or a moulded part, the caps on mine are just black.
and batch i must admit they are not the nicest rims for an E30 but when you see a car with them on at night they look awsome with that big shiney rim!

giggs,
dont worry these things take time!! been told by two good paint shops to do the following.
after clear coat have a minor wet polish with polishing paste, then wait a month before getting the final polish to allow the paint to harden fully, it may look bad for the month with wavey reflections but iam assureed afetr the second wet polish it will look v good and last much better too.
mine will have 2nd polish at beginning of March!
