Right Im currently trying to set up my sound system in my e30 and am having some trouble figuring out wiring routes.

Where is the easiest route for the amplifier cable from the battery to the boot?

Also I have door builds with 5 1/4 inch speakers and am unsure where to put the wires from the speakers to the amp in the boot.

Any help would be great as Im doin attempting the install right now.

I can't advise you about the front > rear power cable, as I haven't done mine yet, however I wouldn't think it's too difficult, as some E30s have the batt in the boot - so there should be a clear route through. Check around the bulkhead for grommets.

By using door builds (especially for the same size as the standard locations) you're making a bit of work for yourself, and it probably won't sound as good as the stock kick locations. You could get hold of some new pins for the A post plug, and utilise the standard connector. Failing that, you may have to drill a hole in the door and fit a small grommet, and make sure to avoid the window mechanism with the wiring!

The sound will be so much better coming from the door tbh. Cheers for your advice

My cables runs along down the rear seats into/thru the center console, and then straight through into the back of the stero headunit. My Amp cable runs the same as (but open the bonnet and lokk for a hole where you can thread thru out of the car) and this wire then is connected to the battery. Hope tht helps.

I ran mine my power cable down the passenger side, theres a large rubber grommet behind the glove box. Try and keep the power cable seperate from your rcas as they can cause intereference!! hope that helps.

My M40 engine front battery runs under the plastic trim below the windscreen, through the firewall behind the glovebox, theres a hole near the brake bellcrank which has space, mine run down the sills behind the carpet and into the boot uner the rear bench and through the ski hatch centre hole into the boot.
