Well i have just had a flick through my photobucket account and found an old pic of the car which at the time had the std chrome grille.
Now this got me thinking "which one do i prefer?", I have one of each but really am unsure which to use?
Chrome:
Satin Black:
The crome looks more original, but the black looks aggressive?
Opinions please.

Chrome looks good on some, black looks good on others, I think for yours, I would go with the black.

chrome makes it look like a BMW; black is much more anonymous... but they both look good
how about taking Giles' suggestion one step further - fix both in the car and make them revolve / swop over at the flick of a switch, and the lights too.................... I'll get my coat

I think your particular car looks good with a black grill.
My chrome-laden Tech 1 car is best suited to the original.

All about the blacked out look. Love that aggresive look. The less chrome the better i say. Just my 2 pence.

black is cool and so is chrome

They both do look good.
My preference is usually chrome on E30, black on an E36.
e.g. mike318is's car which has tempted many of us to be deviant

Mine's black at the mo... I can never make my mind up either! But seeing as it takes about 20 seconds to change it, I ain't too worried

Just swap and change depending on your mood!

My car's metallic black with shadowline trim and I reckon it'd just look oppressively black if I had the grilles black too. Given that you have both I'd swap them about now and then until you decide eaither way.
