i know the basics of running wires makin things sound right etc etc but im worried if i put a sub/amp in the boot im not going to hear it as the rear bench acts almost like a bulkhead so has anyone got anythoughts or suggestions to help?

i want to change my headunit put som different speakers in the front and a set of 6by9's in the shelf with the latter being a no no in hatchbackas as subs versuse 6by9's usually sound shite. but am i write in saying the rear under shelf shelf is metal?

only thing im really concerned about is by sub sound gettin through but any pointers on makin the job easier would be appreciated :)

i had a two 12" vibes in my last sport and yeah they weren't as mind blowing loud as they were in a hatch but they still got through ok.

Have you got a centre armrest? If so ive seen people put the armrest down and then sumhow fit ports into the rear bench.

even if there is no factory ski hatch or rear arm rest it is easy to open the rear bulkhead as the coverplate is only tack welded on tin tops.

There are a few things you need to do

firstly remove the card board backing from inside the boot, this is held on by push in type clips, simply pull out all you see and the cover comes out.

then as above removed rear seat which is simple, hammer and chisel the spot plate which should take about 5 -10 mins there you have your ski hatch.

You should at this point try and mount some mdf to the boot side metal so you can mount you amp, there are some holes which you can put some long bolts with washers, its tight working in the boot area, so measure up and plan before you start this bit of it.

The wires can easily go under the centre console! just a bit of care needed
A wire coat hanger is useful in feeding wires through!
