Can anyone recommend some decent speakers that'll fit in the standard Touring spaces? The ones I've got sound shit and the spaces seem pretty small. Thanks a˜Š

Yes they have! I've bought quite a few tourings where some f*c*w*t has ruined a mint rear interior, and I've had to replace it!

haha, not exactly what I meant. But on removing the rear trim to get at the rear top mounts I was surprised at how small the rear speakers were considering the sound they give is pretty good as stock. I expected at least a 6x4 as the elongated speaker grills might suggest.

The plastic pod they sit in is quite size-able so would have thought some modification to make the most of the grill aperture would have been quite common without butchering the trim or carpeted panels.

This is something I am going to do soon , my lad changed the speakers in his Touring, not sure what he fitted but rears were off Ebay, I think Kenwood or Pioneer, fronts not sure but all fitted in standard pods so no cutting and sound much better.

Was tempted to 'adjust' these pods myself, but unless you really care about what people sitting in the back can hear, I personally wouldn't bother with rears!!!

I still have the standard ones in mine, but the system is faded almost all the way forward, to stop them interfering with the sound!!!
A pair of decent components up front would be much more of an improvement!!!

I have though, recently thought about the possibility of fitting some small mid-bass drivers in there, (with relevant filters), to try and give more power to the mid-range, as the stock positions for coax speakers in the front seem pretty poor for mid-bass!!!
I'll prob try refitting the fronts properly and getting a better fit on them first though - and likely never get round to playing with the rears.
They'd prob still just interfere with the sound stage anyway!!!
More likely go for some more powerful components in the future!!!

Can anyone remember what size they are??? I've got some little rockfords still new in the box, that I never used!!!
