Hello,

after buy some rep wheels I now should make wheels spacers.

what metal is good for making spacers? some of my friends said the best is made from aluminum and I want it strong so I want it be iron or steel.

my friend said the best is made from aluminum as it is not too hard.

need any opinion here.

also does spacers is safe and not making my tire tremor?

my wheel is 8j/et25/15inch, tire 205/55/15, which spacers I should use? 10mm?

how much normal clearance between outer rim lip with strut housing?

thank you

For spacers where the bolts go all the way through, aluminium is fine. they will be as strong as the wheels theyre attached to!

10mm should work well, but it's hard to make a 10cm hubcentric spacer as the extended centre of the standard hub is around 10mm, so would need shortening to fit inside the spacer. This is why most hubcentric spacers start at 12 or 13mm

Just fit them with a smear of grease, or they can corrode onto the hub and/or wheel, and ensure that the bolts have sufficient thread to secure them; a car I recently worked on had a stripped 3-4mm on the end of each wheel stud because they were standard studs used with spacers, which made getting them back in again extremely difficult.

In fact, I ended up with a length of stripped thread spiking its way under my fingernail, and shed some blood - v. painful!

Can I made front spacer 13mm and rear spacer 15mm and it is not touch my fender? still safe?

my rim is 8j and my tire is 205/55/15.

in extreme case how much the maximum front and rear spacer that is safe not touch my fender?

and how is safe gap between my outer rim with strut housing?

at this moment I find that with 8mm spacer there is only about 1mm gap between my rim with strut housing

thank you

I use 15mm aluminium spacers . The were for vw I don't have problems with them. Steel would be too heavy and add weight to steering breaking etc
if there wern't people like me,
with cars like mine,
who would you put down to make yourself feel better?
