Wiring front speakers?

Hi my fellow zoners, I have a 1990 bmw e30 5 door, and recently I wired in my aftermarket cd stereo, which was a nightmare as I'm sure most of you would agree, as the e30 wiring is'nt the best of wiring! My problem is, is that I dont have any front speaker wires and I would like to wire in some tweeters for the front. I'm just wondering if I would be ok wiring them in with my rear speaker wiring? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks (sorry for the mini essay!)

you need to run your tweeter's through a cross-over or have your tweeter's have a resister in the speaker line?, usually there is wiring for the optional fit tweeters taped off on the door behind the cover.
