I`ve got two 10" subs fitted similar to above in my cab
but the boot space in a cab is crap to start with and would have thought 15"s would take up the majority of the boot.
I had thought about mounting them in the body behind the back seat but was unsure about strength issues.Has any one done it or got ant pics?

it is advised not to cut the rear firewall(s) on a cab as they are structural, unlike a tin top.
Further a sub in free air as you suggest would not work very well, a box is always better.
10 inch subs wil fit under the rear roof cover, but 12 and 15 will not, hence why it must be angled. My aim was to use as much of the under hatch space as possible, but still have a 3 cubic foot box, the shape above was the only solution. there is a port firing to the side you cannot see

Went to have a look at a 15" sub in a fully enclosed box today (think it was an xl series box).
The box measured in at 16" top to bottom, 16" front to back and 19" wide with an angled back.
We got in the boot with the sub facing the seats and managed to close the bootlid with the tool box still in. Had to take out the false floor that my previous amp was screwed to though.
Although it fit it didn't look very good, you can't show off the sub and amp the way mrLEE30 has above.

What sort of box did aceraf have?? I'm not too worried about boot space just want the sub to fit and look good.ImysE30 wrote:One of my mates (aceraf on here) was running 2 15" Vibe's, no space left

Distance from boot inner lip to outer lip is same so looking at this pic it will fit...but makes the car useless as no boot at all. Sorry to say there is not any need for such bass in a cab as it is very hard to get any mid range as no real space for decent sized mid range speakers in the cabin.

Agreed.Thats why i went for a pair of tens, just to give it a little oomph and not compromising the boot space.mrLEE30 wrote:Sorry to say there is not any need for such bass in a cab as it is very hard to get any mid range as no real space for decent sized mid range speakers in the cabin.
Plus you look like a knob driving thru the high street with the roof down caning out tunes!

Picture is of when he had the subs in his 2 door, couldn't find a pic of it when it was in the cabby
I think a nice pair of 10" or 12" would sound nice enough

Just buy a touring... i can get a pair 0f 12's in my boot plus the amp and still ahve a fair amount of space

Driving my digger!!!!
Why 2x 15"s, you havn't got a hatch?? a e36 318 compact or e30 touring would work, other wise they will sound shit! All that hard graft for shit sound?????????
Try 2x 12, 2x10 or 3x 10 under the horse shoe roof space thingy... in the cab, they will be very bassy but also crisp and you will have space left, some one a while back gave me this idea...he had 3 jl audio 10" subs connect to 2 phoenix gold amps bridged and wanted £2000 for this custom e30 fit set up....

Well bass can still be felt with the roof off! Custom door builds also work well with 6" sub components...but as said before the set up will sound "better" with roof on.....fit a basic sub and amp then try it! Like everything else It all depends on how much you want to spend!gooner1 wrote:... and what do you do when you want your top off?Jindmahi wrote:Why 2x 15"s, you havn't got a hatch?? a e36 318 compact or e30 touring would work, other wise they will sound shit!
