Attaching number plate without holes.. what choices?

Ive just had to buy some new number plates today but i really didnt want to drill holes in them so i've been looking at different number plate surrounds and invisible attachments but i've not really found anything I like. Closest thing i've found is this one on ebay:

Just wondered what you guys were using and if there were any invisible mounts available and where to get them? Thanks

Erm.. Double sided.. sticky fixers.. heavy duty stuff...!!!

Perfect for the job...

or even the Velcro ones.. if you have show plates!!!

Thanks Z, I was just thinking the double sided tape/fixers would make it a pain to remove the plate in future and the velcro is a good idea but maybe it wouldn't be a secure fitting and easy to steal?

To be honest, if someone is keen to steal your numberplates, they'll do it, whether attached by screws, sticky tape or whatever...

I'd like to give the sticky tape a go, I just don't trust it.

i have usualy used those sticky pad things in the past for clean look

as said tho if someone wants ya plates theyll be gone

dont they make tamper plates now?? that self destruct when you try to remove them???a plate in lots of little bits isnt gonna be any use to anyone

They explode and the thief is left with no numberplate and no hands.

A lot of the plastic surrounds will hold the plates without drilling holes. Ebay is your friend here - I got some nice ones with BMW logos from Germany for a few dollars

bodywork trim tape is the stuff, just a strong waterproof double sided foam tape.

degrease the bodywork and back of the plate, 4 vertical strips equally spaced on the plate will be plenty, position on the body, press and hold for 30 seconds or so. can be helpfull to warm the tape and bodywork slightly with a hairdrier if it's cold or damp out.

will easily be strong enough to hold a plate for decades, to remove just warm up the plate and prise up gently from the bottom. it would even be possible to do the old fishingline badge removal trick.

i've used a surround on the rear as the rear pannel has a big enough recess for it not to look ugly or stick out, i don't like them on the front as they hang off the bumper so just tape the front plate on.

No more nails double sided tape. It's the b0llocks for number plates. Slim and very strong. Just ensure all surfaces are very clean.

There is a plain black surround here http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/ which is cheap and will look pretty tidy IMO. Frames the plate better than just sticking it on.

I personally did away with the entire surround...i think this gives a cleaner look
