Think the Kenwood would be my choice mate. But the Clarion has a stlye that would would probably go with the E30 dash slightly better. Tricky one really. The Sony one looks well but isn't as powerful.

yer as a brand i would go for kenwood but the clarion looks like it will be at home in the e30 dash
will be hooking it up to an amp so the power does't matter

+1 for the clarion looks. Nice and square and all black. I hope the illumination matches in nicely.

Out of your three choices I would choose the Clarion.
I have one of these, looks very good in the E30 dash

ugh, I hope you hadn't. I love how the Clarion looks in the dash but I hate how it operates. Real stupid things designed into it and frustrating to use. Hopefully it isn't the same in this model, but on mine, it wasn't able to go through all the song tracks. I mean if you were on track 20 of a 20 track cd and pressed NEXT, it wouldn't go to the first track. Very annoying. Hopefully they changed the UI cause it looks bang on in an e30.

Not being funny but why are you choosing a head unit based on what it looks like? Surely what it sounds like is a more important criterion?

as said above im hooking it up to an amp so sound output aint that important.

The HU is the most important part of your sound system, hooking a shit HU up to an amp is only going to make louder sounding shit!
Alpine FTW

I went for the Kenwood, but with a USB flash memory front input. It's ace, no need for a CD changer.

I got one of these in mine, Sony CDX-M600R
Looks

It is quite old now though, having said that I have just managed to get an adaptor for it so I plug an MP3 player in to it.

Iv got a Jensen mp3 in my 320i. Nice thing is it isnt colourful, the buttons and display backlights are orange and make it look part of the dash.

Think yourself lucky that this sort or thing and ICE in general have come down in price a LOT over the years. About 10 years ago I bought a pretty low speck Kenwood radio & tape player that cost £350. For 50-60 quid ............no chance
That Becker was £250 and im very happy with it, just need to upgrade my speakers for the second time.

I think you made the right decision, i think the 9 buttons complement the e30 dash the most. Plus the red glow lighting is inkeeping with the instrument lighting.
Good buy in my opinion

I bought Audiovox ME412, and i think it suits '80s dash perfectly well. Orange glow from lights fit the interior lights nicely. It's not chrome bling bling disco - shit, but tasteful.

I've got the Clarion in mine, I think the 'boxiness' of it suits the 80's styling. The sound is pretty clear actually, bit bright but then it is a car hi-fi. Most useful with a usb port on the front. Not the most user friendly menu but I can live with it

yer thats why i baught it i looks a little retro
Anyway it might be going in an e30 sooner than i thought because my old 316i if for sale, the guy who baught it took it as is and when he mot'd it it needed all new brake lines and a pas rack etc , so its for sale again without mot so i might buy it back
it wont be going on the road for a few month yet like, so i can get the work done slowly

I'll have to post a pic of my Panasonic Cd player. (2006)
I have one in my 325i & my brother has one in his E30 M3.
Very subtle and goes well in an E30.
