The reason I'm considering a 2.8 is that there are 2 E23 728i barges locally with major rot which may come available soon. I think it's an M20 lump in these & therefore seems like it should be reasonably straightforward from what I've read.
Just wondering if anyone has used the lump from an E23 before, what the job went like and what 'box & diff was used. Also I've read that the inlet mani' is restricted on the 2.8 lump & that a 2.5 one is the way to go, how much difference is this likely to make over standard if it was coupled to a cold air feed & fairly standard 'zorst? (probably go for a sleeper, keeping the 318 badging and standard bodywork etc!)
Cheers, Dan.
