Assuming youve got all the parts needed or youve got complete a donor car, then not really. A couple brackets will be missing or not in the right place in the engine bay (for the 2.5 AFM and header tank), but thats about it really - both easily sorted.

You will need to fit the battery to starter cable from the 6 cyl car as the 4cyl one is contained in its engine loom (which you are removing) and dont forget to refit the earth cable from the engine mount to inner chassis rail - its on opposite sides between 4 and 6 cyl, so you might need rub the paint down a bit to get a good earth.

The rads are different sizes, so you will need one of the mounts from the 325i (I think its the passenger side mount, but cant remember).

If its a 316i saloon, then you will probably need to swap the front struts for the larger 51mm items and possibly do the rear disc conversion. If its a touring, it should have these anyway.

You dont say what age the cars are, but if both are facelift then its pretty much as above and fairly straight forward. Im not sure what issues there could be if one is pre-facelift and the other not.

Thats all I can think of now.

Everything that James said + the Diff if you want any top end speed. Will be very rapid with the 316i diff in though!

Also the coding plug from the 325i dash needs to be used or the tach will read incorrect

You will need to source an AFM and prop from a 325i in that case.
theyr both 1991
Should be a plug and play conversion then, just the bits mentioned above.

Good luck with it 8)
