Okay heres one for the boffins. My shortened prop is slightly too short on the front section from gearbox to centre bearing. This prevents me from preloading it. So my questions are why are they preloaded and could I fit the centre bearing assembly the wrong way around and preload it in the opposite direction. Anyone done this?

cheers

basically you loosly bolt up the centre bearing then push it forward 5mm and tighten it up. It puts tension on the rubber that holds the bearing
