Try Ant at A tech. He would be able to help you. Check his details in his signature.

Anything will work,.
But depends on your HP goals.

What are they?
HX35´s will reach upwards of 500hp so they really have a large usable powerband.
With great challenges comes great engineering.

Well again, it´s all about what HP you want.
HX35 is about as small as they come from the ebaymarket.
Besides the HX30 and smaller really don´t work well for a low power outputs.

Spool is a function of your manifold design, split pulse will make a larger turbo spool faster then a log assuming the turbo has twin scroll.

WHAT HP U LIKE???

quick spool, hx35 with 12cm exhaust housing, depending on what manifold, boost control ect, will spool quite early, if you want to go big, hx55 hx60, with a 18cm or 19cm housing and if you have a very good set up yo will see full boost around 4000, 4500 revs, but only go that big if you want more than 500whp?
i would suggest a hx35 on a 16cm housing with a tubular manifold, boost control, good engine management, cr of about 8.0:1 a sutible cam some stiffer valve springs to go with the cam, big injectors, large intercooler. the list goes on and on really.
it all depends on your power goals and your budget.

Im rebuilding a WH1C 12cm for mine, (Thanks rossle) and funny enough my set up is going to be basically what rossle has described above. not sure if i'm going to consider changing pistons, conrods or crank yet, but apart from that i think rossle has described the best way.
