Hi everyone, im new to this forum, its great by the way! Have always wanted an e30 and have just bought one :D , a 1991 316 2door. Got it for a great price and all the bodywork is A1 with alpina alloys, clifford alarm, mtech kit etc...

Problem is that its overheating badly and looks like its a head gasket. :( One of my friends has a spare engine from a 1988 318, considering it has much lower mileage than mine im thinking of putting that into my car.

Does anyone know if this will be an easy swap or what problems may occur etc?

Thanks a million

If the car and the new engine are both injection then it should be a simple bolt-in job. If the car is a 316 (not an "i" ) then you will have to fit the fuel pump from an injection, the fuel lines, and extend the fuel pump wiring from under the rear bench so it goes to the correct side.
