Hi people i was wondering if someone has a basemap for ms1 to use on my m42 engine.ANY help is more than welcome.
I do not like football or basketball because they need one ball to play.I like drifting that needs two...

setting the trigger wheel settings up is relativly easy fella, all outlined in the manual so thats the major hurdle covered , do you intend to use the OE COP setup or swop to wasted spark , I ask because if you wish to use the OE setup you'll need to mod the unit to accept a second VR channel for the cam phase signal, or ground two coils on one ignitor chip as per dan and Tim s iirc.
as for the fuel and spark maps, I can generate some to suit if you like but dont be going for any WOT runs on full boost this side of a dyno setup session.
I'd go for the 3.57 SMD PCB on this one BTW, V3 would suffice but 3.57 has twin VR on board so ticks lots of boxes for this app.
@ Dan, you still using that unit you sent to me ?

don´t go further then about 32deg at WOT at 100kpa at around max torque.
pull back 0.75deg per degree per psi boost, that should help out a little,
also cruise timing is at about 43deg.
idle is 10deg...
I can give WOT timing info if anybody want´s it.

I was planning to use a driver for each OEM COP, but run it wasted. This should work, no?

if you duplicate the logic output to both paired VB921z's should work OK,
be careful with dwell settings though 3m/s cranking and 1.6m/s running should work OK, should you get missfires up the dwell slightly

ant - thank you. legendary advice as always. I'd not yet started to worry about dwell settings.Ant wrote:if you duplicate the logic output to both paired VB921z's should work OK,

by duplicate the logic, do you mean configure the a driver on each logic output and use software settings. Or just use two drivers on each of the two logic outputs?
(sorry for the off topic warlock but hopefully the info will be useful to you also

use one VB921z for each COP as per OE, but use paired logic drives , so in simple terms use Spark outputs A and B only, unless you add the cam phazing( ? ) the ECU wont "know" which cylinder to fire on
Greg le bon on ebay is seling external coil modules for MS with 4 drivers already fitted, might be an easy way forwards ?

Cool - I think I've got it. Could look at an extra module but looking to try and figure some of this stuff outAnt wrote:use one VB921z for each COP as per OE, but use paired logic drives , so in simple terms use Spark outputs A and B only, unless you add the cam phazing( ? ) the ECU wont "know" which cylinder to fire on

I thought about making use of the m42 cam sensor as a later mod.
