I've done a fair bit of searching, but cant really find the answers :(

I'm thinking of using a BMW Mini CooperS supercharger on my 318i tourer and using megasquirt for the fueling.

I was planning on using a Nissan 200SX intercooler, as they're rated to around 200BHP and are generally free as the SX's always upgrade.

The only info I can find about S/C'ing BMW 4pots is usually on the 16v, so anything I should consider for doing it to an 8v?

Would I need to upgrade the injectors? If so, what car can I get them from?

And where can I get a decent free flowing exhaust from? Can a 318iS tubular manifold be adapted to fit the 8v?

Has anyone her supercharged an 8v? Anything I need to look out for? I'm not planning on running mega boost, just "a little something extra" and for the supercharger whine ;)

Cheers,
Ed

I've built 2 M40B18 Turbos, both are nice ,responsive lil buggers No blowups or headgasket failures to report, both are Fully standalone on MS ECU's

re the charger, the principle is the same, although the method of getting the boost changes of course...

Appletree may be able to assist with charger placement ideas, I think Hoshy has done some work on the too using the Mini blower.

Go for it ! keep us posted.

Hi, i would say you could easly copy my install and just use the standard m40 half inlet were i used my M42 inlet.

The supercharging does work out easier if you use an up stream throttle body then you dont have to play about with dump valves and things like that. As the m40 heads also smaller than the 42 i would say that you do have enough room to pipe in a front mounted intercooler rather than use a charger cooler like i did :D

Cool, at least the idea wasn't shot down in flames :)

I'm going to start sourcing/pricing parts to see roughly how much it will cost.
