Had my t3/4 turbo running for a little while @ 8psi approx. and the last few days the waste gate (which is internal) has become quite audible when comming off throttle any idears why?

The waste gate could be broke and thats the turbo that you might be hearing stalling.

If the WG was broken, you'd likely as not be seeing more than your desired boost level.

If on the other hand you've got a dump valve which has failed, that could cause chattering and stalling.

Cheers guys,

On further investigation (on boost driving winkeye ), the BOV/dump valve is not as sharp sounding as usual,
I do quite like the waste gate sound but what damage can be done to the turbo by stalling, how can the waste-gate break do you mean the actuator?

If the WG was broken, you'd be seeing more boost than you should (unless the spring's broken that is in which case less.

Either way, the boost level would have changed if the actuator or WG had failed in some way.

Boost seems the same, i think it's pointing towards the bov, will this damage the turbo?

Probably not, it's not a bad idea to find out what the problem is and fix it though.
