E28 535i. exhaust manifold.

it fits the engine fine
but it won't fit an e30 very well at all if that's what you're suggesting?
it'll hit the bulkhead severely and the downpipes will hit the floor unless you space them downwards from the manifold flange.

Woukd the same apply with a E32 735i manifold?

no that's what you want
the e32/e34 manifold (730, 735 530, 535 are all the same) is like two separate manifolds, whereas the E28/24/23 one is like one big log that bolts together at the centre. the e32/34 one fits the e30 nicely. i had one on my e28 engine and it was a lot lot easier to get fitted than the original e28 manifold.
