Don't bother with a muffler and go straight out of the drivers wing
My turbo placement means I could do this via the battery tray and out through the wing but I wonder if I'll get a car full of exhaust everytime I drive it with the windows down, which is most of the time these days.
My single box system only gets loud around 2.5-3k and then over 5k, idle and off boost it's rather quiet, although my neighbours wouldn't agree
HTH,Mark.

You can just about ( some have failed ) get a 3inch pipe down past the steering and round the bottom end.rossle wrote:i want to do it without a muffler but dunno if it would be toooooo loud??? that way i can have amahoosive downpipe!![]()
If you're going to do this you'll need a tiny back box or not one. If the exhaust pipe is kept really short you won't need one at all.
I spent some time with a racing truck that a company I work with run, it has NO exhaust at all, just a 6 inch stub welded onto the back of the biggest HOLSET I've ever seen! The noise is sexual, even tho it's a straight 6 deisel!
3inch downpipe is plenty for us, only 500/600bhp engines need more.

p.s. if you want a few really loud and cool noises, vent your wastegate to atmosphere, my screamer pipe is just the baddest thing on my car, it scares everyone in a mile raduis!

i would have thought no muffler would have been too loud for the road though?

Ideally a system with both options would be the best, some times I want too turn it off, some times not!Toby_Unna wrote:fozzymonster wrote:
