Remeber: 318iS's themselves aren;t very expensive and it's a WHOLE LOT easier to sell up and go buy a car with all that stuff already on it..
I know it's not that helpful to say but you should never convert to a car you can just buy, especially so cheap.

how hard is the conversion i take it you have to get the engine loom as well as ecu is that it or will i need the 318is prop and gearbox oh and what about the diff ?

yep, you need the loom and ecu. when you un plug the old ecu you can just pull the loom out through the hole in the bulkhead beside the battery. then you disconnect the original loom where the twist type circular connector is beside the fuse box, there's also a positive wire to be disconnected from inside the fusebox which comes from the battery, you don't have to, but it's handier. you can keep the 316 box and prop. I had a 318is which i crashed but transferred the engine, brakes, suspension, etc into a 316 but kept the 316 box. along with an m3 diff i find it a lot faster than before, dunno if this is due to the gearbox or diff, or a combination of both. will hit 130mph easily enough and will top out around 140mph. And it'll do rings all day long, i love it.
