Quite hard because you need the whole ix body. It was different in many areas: floorpan, McPherson mounts, etc.

and i bet they are hard to find. rare.
if you could find one then you could put a bigger engine in if thats your plan?
why do you want 4 wheel drive?

BMW road cars should not be 4wd. I only recently found out they actually made them - I was horrified.
Fitting a live axle to remove rear camber would be a better idea and drag slicks. Already faster than a 4wd then, and 4 less CV joints in the system mean less drivetrain losses.

there are turbo'd IXs in the states, check out www.e30tech.com
I hear you can buy them in Europe for not that much and since they're all LHD anyway, you may as well!

think hes just reffering to the 3.5L engine not just the 4wd version.gortour wrote:We all know the 535, just not a 4wd version...
apparently the BMW 4WD system can't handle 'big power', but is definatly ok for a not too lairy M20 Turbo or 335i.

i got quoted a starting price of £2500 for doing a 4wd conversion using cosworth running gear.usually prices end up double the original quote though
