What injectors are people using on higher powered cars?

Not sure if the standard ones will do the job and I'm not too keen on upping the fuel pressure as I've got an ECU to take care of the fueling, just need to know what sort I should be looking for.

I thought about cossie 4wd injectors which are pretty cheap and should flow about enough I reckon.

Cheers!

Well i'm intending on using 535 ones, which do flow more cc than m20 2.5 ones. By how much has temporarily slipped my mind, i will find out tho. I'm told they will fit, but i'll be able to tell you for definate by the weekend as they'll be installed hopefully :)

Andy335Touring, that's a bloody handy chart! :)

Cheers for that, according the the emerald website:

As a rough guide to power output, take the injector flow in cc/min and divide by 5 then multiply by the number of injectors.

Example: 220cc/min divide by 5 = 44 x 4 injectors = 176bhp

If fitting of double injectors is chosen, then the figure doubles to 352bhp.
So for my 260bhp (hopefully) I'll need:

260/6=43.33

43.33*5=216.66cc/min

So looks like the big six injectors's are all suitable :)

Not sure if that method above refers to sequential injection, semi-sequential or batch firing.

Alex,

714's are the ones I have, flow 220-240 cc/min.... These were recommended to me by a few people.......
What have you done about plugs then?
HTH

p.s. That list is bloody handy, wish I had that 3 months ago

I don't think it matters ?

Motronic E34 batch fires them in three's and my Emerald fires them in pairs.

I've got some E28 M5 grey injectors that i was going to use on my M30 with some e28 M5 TB's and i'm hoping to get 260-270bhp with the TB's so the M30 injectors might be a little bit border line if they can supply enough fuel ?

Last thing i want is to take it to Daves for the remap and get most of the way done then find i've not got enough fuel at the top end.

I think i might sell both M30b35 and S38b35 injectors and buy some new ones from here.

Thinking about it, it'd only make a difference if the choices were 1)sequential and 2)semi seq or batch as fully sequential injectors need to be twice as big as the other two.

But if the beemer ran batch anyway they should work fine with the emerald :)

Alex,

The injectors that I've read are the ones to have for 300bhp+ are the 48lb ones, but the 714's I have are only 23lbs, so I think I may need some bigger ones soon!! (hopefully! )
