One for the people on megasquirt.

i know most of you are running MS on m20's which may hinder the situation but was just wondering what you were using in terms of idle?

I have a golf fast idle valve that mr summerhayes supplied me and also the standard icv but atm, on Ms the car (only when warm i might add) actaully idles remarkably without one! Its only when cold that it is lumpy and hunts at around 600 rpm.

Is there anyway to improve the cold idle using Ms alone or is it better to install an idle valve?

Ideas/current idle solutions would be cool 8)

Ms can use the stock icv Dan,

you need to ake sure to enable PWM not on/off as the control algorythm and did you build with a TiP444 or the stock 222 ?

I dont use an ICV, cold start fast idle can be easily achieved by tweaking the timing for more advance @ low CLT temps.

I don't have a ICV either, just a small opening on the TB and as Ants said you can adjust timing against coolant temp to stablise the idle at cold start.

I still have to give it a 30 secs high idle warmup when I start it but thats not an issue I worry about really, it's been that way for so long now it's just habit.

ah yeah forgot to mention guys... im on Itb;s too 8) I would prefer not to run a ic-valve; using advance/coolant temp warm up sounds a pretty cool way of doing it. Think i already have a small opening on the Itb's that tim has sorted out which must be what is enabling the perfect warm idleing. Touch wood when i get the unit back il try the above.

thank you!
