removing a 1.6i (m40)engine, any tips or advice????

swapping my 1.6 over as i found a bargain donor, any tips on removal or even a method list ????? cheers chaps.

Disconnect everything relevant and lift out. Shouldn't be any problems with a little M40.
Don't touch the exhaust manifold nuts unless there's a good reason to do so, or you enjoy extracting broken studs.
Personally I would pull the gearbox out as well, especially if the new engine comes with one.
Split the box off and check the clutch while it's out.
Remove the gear lever, and you don't need to undo the difficult to release clip that holds the fixed gearlinkage link to the gearbox. It will pull out with the engine and box, but needs to be then taken off and refitted to the car before refitting the box and engine.
