Hey
First time posting..
Im also from australia where we have right hand drive cars..
I have a e30 318i 1991 model that i put a 2.7ltr alpina engine with haltech into...
i am now putting a m52 alloy block engine with m50 inlet manifold with a ASA supercharger, Delco ECU and the engine has got ARP bolts everywhere possible with a metal head gasket
I have installed the engine in the car with a small casing 325i e36 5 speed gearbox (to save weight) i am up to the stage of adding the "extras"..
I read the m50 developments thread (took 3 days) and i have decided ill be using the MK 1 golf gti servo with my current 25mm 7 series master cylinder
I have also attempted to install my m3 extractors but as a lot fo you have found this wont fit... i would prefer not to modify the extractors as it will cost a fortune (have allready got quotes and will cost twice the amount the extractos cost me).. i am wondering what other ideas you guys have short of putting ont he m50 cast manifold. was looking at some short headers off ebay?
does anyone have pics of what need to be modified on their extractos?
also i have seen people using a full fire wall plastic cover that covers the wiring. is that a e30 M3 wiring cover?
thanks for your help and reading my longgggggg post...
Josh
p.s. ill post pictures of my install
couple of m52 questions...

If youre using the Mk1 servo, make sure its from the Mk1 GTi, which is also the same size as the Mk2 1.3 servo and one of those maybe easier to find.tubby17s wrote:i have decided ill be using the MK 1 golf gti servo with my current 25mm 7 series master cylinder
Any 4pot E30 has the long plastic cover, the M3 has an extra bit that fits behind the battery tray.also i have seen people using a full fire wall plastic cover that covers the wiring. is that a e30 M3 wiring cover?
Sounds like a nice project, looking forward to the pics

looking at the extractor problem myself at the moment had my engine offered up to the crossmember today the e30 antiroll bar fouls the front extractor quite badly my answer to this is to remove the e30 anti roll bar and fit the m3 e36 unit which will fit in front of the engine
i will have to manufacture the mountings for this but i work for a bmw breakers so getting the mounts off the e36 chassis legs will not be hard for me and as i am going 5 stud using e36 m3 evo front suspension and brakes this should work well
the only pipe you will need to modify then is no.6 which will need moving inwards towards the engine to clear the steering column joint you will need a friend with tig welding experience as these manifolds are not made if mild steel i will post some photos once mine are welded but that will be in 2 or 3 weeks time hope this has helped
