the reason i ask as i imagine there would be an advantage in the lower rpm range due to spray pattern:

i have just picked up a handfull of ebay 6 for me and 6 for a ford friend if they dont work i can always give him my 6 but surely there would be a notcicable difference?

If the spray is finer it stands that the fuel will atomize faster and therefore be better at lower rpm but bugger knows what they'll be like all round.

Spray patterns are carefully selected to suit the profile of the inlet port and swirl characteristisc of the head.. Perhaps less so when our cars were designed than now mind!

I assume you're running a mappable ecu?

F**k it, suck it see!

The only similar trial a few people did I while back was fit e36 M3 injectors, half to see if they would increase performance and the other half trying to remove the damn ticking the stock ones make. They had a wider spray pattern and there were mentions of bore wash and associated issues but some seemed happy with them in :D

Gotta agree really, just take it easy! :D

Thing which interests me about those split spray pintles is that people talk about them being to divert fuel to both sides of a 4v head, but then you see them installed at all sorts of jaunty angles which kinds of defeats the object.....if that is the object.

How are they installed at jaunty angles if the electrical rail is holding them all in the same place, within + or - 5 degrees anyway I would have thought?

Have seen them on a couple of Pug engines (and a Saab one I seem to recall) on the piss.

Yeah its highly possible, just with the m20 injector rail harness I would have thought it hard to screw it up...that much :)

Tis a good point Jon, some of us with pensionable M20s didn't get that neat plastic rail though

Dude it totally slipped my mind that, that rail is about as much use to you as a chocolate teapot.
