The reg from a carburated engine will probably only deliver 5psi or so whereas you need in the region of 45psi.

Why do you want a rising rate one out of interest? If you've got a MS then the standard one (with the pressure signal line attached!) will keep the fuel pressure at 3bar (or whatever the reg says on the side) above manifold pressure, be that negative or positive :)

thats what ive seen on all the other S/c m42s but they may have been running standard ECU with a chip?

i was actualy thinking about using the emerald system as i like the idea of being able to swop between 3 different maps on the move.

why would this not work wiht the normal ECU??

you coud use the RRFRP to fule the iS-S/C but it will be richer than Richard Branson on part throttle, and may even suffer with borewash, not a good plan

Emerald can do 3 maps internally now then ? MS can have 2 and switch between at the push of a button, on the fly.

what about using a Miller MAF with their FI software Matt ? MS is still cheaper but its your coin, spend it where you want to fella :thumb:

cheers for the advice ant, been talking to dave walker at emerald and he was saying the new 3D emerald can run three maps and then swop on the fly so you could have one set for 95Octaine one for 98octain and then a trackday foristance.

I havent totaly decided on which ECU to use yet, would i be right in saying that i would have to swop the coil pack to run megasquirt as id quite like to keep the origonal to save making up more brackets an the fact that ive got 3 sat on a shelf "just incase" LOL :D

how much is the miller set up?? any idea

MS can now drive up to 5 COP units, so the stock M42 unit can be catered for Matt.

Nothing wrong with Emerald, superb service and quality, I just like to make my own way in life, blaze my own trail and all that speil

Miller setup is a prototype, but I'm assured by the guys that your projetc could be catered within the limits of the stock software, obv MAF based with custom timning and fuelling maps.

Costs are likely to sit between M3D and MS dude.

MBE 4 cyl ECU is quite cheap too iirc, £300 + vat+ loom, maybe worth a sniff ?
