Guys, I know that you can "easily" convert a 320 to a 325 but would like some more help with a 318 to a 325 conversion. Would a 318is box mate to a 325 engine? Also what about the prop required. Also does the fuel pump need to be uprated? Are the engine wiring looms compatable easily?

Easier to go out and buy a decent 325.
Looms are different, as is box & prop. Suspension is uprated on 320/325 because of the extra engine weight, so that means a complete front and rear end swap. Rad is different as well, plus a few other bits and pieces.
So you would have to change all of the above, better to put the cost into a different car.

I'm not completely perfect.......there are some bits missing or broken.
But the weather here helps!!!

I have never heard of anyone doing this, and if you can, again not worth the expense, IMHO.
316/318i = M40 engine.
318is = M42 engine.
M40 won't convert to an M42.

iS chassis has all the right bits, apart from the front springs needing changing for the extra 6 pot weight.
Engine (complete with its loom and ECU - don't even unplug them), radiator, gearbox and prop are needed, and the diff should really be changed as well.
Minor problem will be the wrong bracket for the AFM air filter.
If your existing M42 engine is in good order you will probably be disappointed with this conversion. Fuel consumption will be greatly increased, you will lose the balance of the four pot car, and, although the 325 is definitely quicker, it doesnt really feel it.
