hi guys this is my firs post, but i have been checkin out the forum for quite a bit , right , what i am trying to achive is lowering the compression from 10/10.5 . 1 to around 8.1 , so is there any anser, i dont relly want to lose much capacty or use a massive or double head gasket, could i maybe use a m52 28L crank with custom pistons ,or is there some sort of mix of con rods and cranks that would give me the round about that compresion, with compession that low obiously for a turbo aplication, and i dont want no pussy 7 psi, i want between 1 -1.5 bar max, would rlly like to here from any one that has done a coversion like this , just for some advise on the abouve and on what sort of power the standard crank conrods ad pistons are good for, cheers gary

could also try M42 pistons, they lower M20's which have same dimensions as M50 from 8.8:1 or 9.7:1 to 7:1, A thick cometic MLS would get you close and also sort out headgasket issue at same time, conrods and crank will take 1.5 bar no problem

Once you're on the "restricted area" page, click on "home", login again and then click "back" on your navigator to access the page.
I suppose it's a bug with the cookies, I've got the same problem.

thanks guys, and girls,i have been checkin out a few things in spec lists all over the net,and according to bmwworld if i use a pre 1992 non vanos crank and post 1992 con rods (being 5mm shorter or m52 28 are 5mm shorter too)this would lower each piston by 5 mm in the bore therefore lowering compression has anny of you got anny idea wht compression this would give , and has anny one fitted m42 piston to an m50 i have seen a lost of m20 lumps with them as sam 325is said , cheers for the help so far
