lads

im gonna drop a s14 engine into my standard rhd 320 shell. but i dont know if it will be a s14 320is or the s14 2.3 from the m3. dont forget these were only available in lhd

apart from the manifold issue and the fact i need box, prop, anchilleries etc is it just a straight forward plug and play job? or will i have to change the loom inside the car as well??

i assume i just need the engine loom and ecu???

any pointers appreciated

thanks

No replies, so I will, even though I don't know much about M3s.
You definitely won't have to change the car loom, although whether the S14 loom is exactly p&p, I don't know.
If the S14 loom will physically fit the 320 C101 loom socket, then no damage will be done and the engine will probably run, although some of the instruments may not.

The only difference between the M3 and the stock E30 car looms is that the M3 has an extra wire from the C101 for the oil temp. Everything else works from the word go.

I think you have listed all the other major issues with this conversion.

You can pick up the wire on the engine loom and run it through the engine harness grommet near the battery tray at the front.
