Is there much difference in power between 535 e34, 535 e28, 735 old 7 series and 635 classic 6 series?
Also see a few 535 manuals and many 735 autos but 7 series are hard to find in manual, is there a good manual gearbox that can fit on a m30 block apart from the standard and sport models from the e34?
cheers lads

the E34 and E32 have the later low compression M30. this is a lot easier to fit in a E30 for several reasons. The earlier high compression lump will go a bit better but the headaches in fitting it made me go for the later lump.

there's not a huge range of gearboxes to be honest. finding a manual can be hard enough on its own!

my engine and loom etc came from a £100 E32 735i and i fitted a E34 530 gearbox with a E28 single mass flywheel (lighter than the E32 / E34 dual mass unit). there are no problems with using the auto engine but if you can find a manual donor then there will be a lot less parts searching to do
